Skijoring

Skijoring ('skē-jȯr-iŋ) is a winter sport where a person on skis is pulled by a horseback rider.  It is derived from the Norwegian word skikjøring meaning ski driving.

Originally a means of Siberian and Nordic winter transportation, equestrian skijoring has evolved into a competitive sport in Montana.  Skiers are drawn by mounted horses through snowy meadows and along forest trails creating an experience that merges snow skiing with the feel of water skiing. The Triple Creek Ranch version focuses more on fun than competition with the experience tailored to each guest's skill level.
