For a thrilling adventure that leaves you with a sense of accomplishment, there is nothing like a cattle drive to bring out your inner cowboy or cowgirl! Enjoy a day on the range herding cattle the old-fashioned way. This activity is appropriate for all riding levels, and all guests are asked to go on at least one on-ranch trail ride and watch a short video on horsemanship safety prior to participating in the cattle drive. Meet your wranglers at the Rider’s Roost at 9:30 am for a short 30-minute drive to the Sula valley in the beautiful French Basin. There, help move anywhere from 100 to 800 head of cattle. An additional fee of $200 per person is assessed and will be added to your cabin invoice. In the event of bad weather, our wranglers may cancel the ride for safety reasons at no charge. If a guest cancels within 24 hours, a cancellation fee of $100 per person will be assessed unless others on the waiting list are available to fill in. Minimum of 4 riders.
Cattle Drives are the most requested activity at Triple Creek Ranch. We can accommodate a limited number of guests on each drive and spaces are quickly filled, so we do recommend that you reserve your space on a cattle drive when you reserve your cabin.
Cattle Drives are scheduled from June through early October. On Mondays and Fridays we work with the Sula Peak Cattle Ranch, and on Wednesdays we push cows from Ehmann’s Ranch. Trips depart at 9:30am – you’ll take a break midday to enjoy a gourmet packed lunch – then get back in the saddle to finish the job before heading back to the ranch in the afternoon at 3:00/4:00pm. Enough time for a relaxing soak in the hot tub or a refreshing dip in the pool before dinner!
