Jessie at 17 during her 1st running of Montana’s 350 mile
‘RACE TO THE SKY’
This Saturday, Jessie Royer and 9 other mushers will be at Camp Rimini, west of Helena for the start of the 350 mile ‘Race To The Sky’. The race begins at 10:00 AM and again on Sunday in Lincoln.

‘Jessie has competed in the Race to the Sky just once before, in 1994 when she was a 17-year-old rookie from Philipsburg. Royer became both the youngest musher and the first female to win, on a course that stretched 500 miles through the mountains from Camp Rimini west of Helena to Holland Lake Lodge and back.

Now 36, with 10 years of finishes in Alaska’s fabled 1,100-mile Iditarod Dog Sled Race under her belt, Royer is back at Race to the Sky as one of just two past winners’.
Jessie currently lives and works in Darby, Montana at Triple Creek Ranch. After competing in this weekends race, she will soon bear the elements once again in Alaska for training and then, mush in the legendary Alaskan Iditarod Race, 2013.
