Weather & Packing List

The Bitterroot Valley is known as “the banana belt” of the Montana Rockies and we experience fairly typical mountain weather that can change at a moment’s notice. At all times of year, we recommend packing layers that you can comfortably add and remove as nature dictates.

At Triple Creek Ranch, our altitude of 4,600 feet places you considerably closer to the sun! We highly recommend liberal use of sunscreen and lip balm with sunscreen. Wearing a hat and a lightweight, long sleeved shirt will also help protect you from the sun. It is important to stay hydrated in proportion to the activities you are enjoying. We recommend dressing in layers as Rocky Mountain weather can be unpredictable, and temperatures and conditions can change quickly.

SPRING and early summer often bring sunny days with crisp evenings and chilly mornings. Daytime temperatures range between 50 and 70 degrees; evening and nighttime temperatures often fall to the mid 30s.
