Fly Casting Lessons & Self-Guided Fly Fishing

Fly Casting Lessons

How do you catch a fish on a fly? Find out in our Fly Casting Clinics where a professional guide will teach special knots for tying your fly, casting the line, setting the hook, and how to bring in your catch.

After your lesson, you will be ready to fish one of our two stocked trout ponds available for guest use. One pond is located above the Lodge, and another larger pond is in the pasture along the West Fork Road in front of the ranch. The kitchen will be delighted to cook up your catch for lunch or dinner as well!

Fly Fishing Montana’s Blue Ribbon Waters

If you would like to fish the Bitterroot River on your own or even enjoy bank fishing on our private sister ranch, visit with an Activity Coordinator for any equipment needed, a Montana fishing license, and a map to local fishing access. They will give you the inside scoop on the best fishing ‘hot spots’, and can direct you to nearby scenic areas just a short drive away. Ask for a cooler of your favorite beverages or have us pack a lunch to take with you as well!

Gear & Equipment

As a premier fly fishing destination, Triple Creek Ranch is an ORVIS endorsed fishing lodge where guests enjoy unfettered access to a full range of complimentary fly fishing gear and equipment including flies, rods, reels, boots, waders, hats and fishing nets… all available at the Activity Center in the Main Lodge!

Guided half-day & full-day Fish Float trips with experienced anglers on the Bitterroot River & Salmon River are also available, & have become a favorite activity for many of our guests.
